Of course we try to sound like the people we look up to. And even then our sound will be different. Still it seems like technology and the way EDM became a marketing term made a lot of people les creative and more similar sounding then ever.

How is it that when there were les musical instruments, there was more creativity in songs then now that we have the ability to create sounds that do not exist yet.

Every time it takes some creative minds to change the mold and create something fresh sounding. At that point the rest seek that sound, some try to synthesise it, others just samlple it.

It's o.k. to sound similar to your favorite composers by trying to do what they do. But it's not o.k. that the mainstream only focusus on what sells best. There is a lot of undiscovered music out there with sounds that didn't exist before. If you don't search for them yourself, you might never hear them, because the greedy will only promote what sells at the moment and will not take any risk to find out if the new sounds will sell too.

What they do, is look at social media results of people who seem to have the most supporters, no matter what they sound like. Then they try to use them as a cashcow. Some artists have woken up just in time to prevent that from happening, but some had to learn it the hard way.

We support creativity and not "cashcow-ability" in any genre, no matter how many followers you have.

GronTapu Means world and GronTapu music means: music without borders.

Welcome to the place of the music-genre benders.
